Overview
I was recently in talks with a client about doing some product visualisation work for toys. I’ve worked on product visualisation projects before, but not specifically in this area, so I thought it would be useful to put an example together.
I decided to work with a 3D printable toy as the files I’d be working with would be similar to CAD files from a toy manufacturer. I found this great mech model on Thingiverse that I thought would be perfect.
After adding materials, assembling the parts and rigging it up, I created a turnaround and sent it off. All of that work felt like it deserved a little more of a result than a turnaround, so I made this ultra short film in Blender. I wanted it to have an authentic Stop-Motion feel to it, so I animated forward on 4’s.
I’m pretty happy with the final result, especially considering it was made from start to finish in a day.
